Theresa Voellinger RYT 200, has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Her early yoga journey included study in Iyengar, Anusara, Bikram, and Vinyasa Flow. This diversity helped her gain insight about the benefits of yoga from many different perspectives. From this she brings a focus on alignment and “being in the pose” from the soles of the feet to the tips of the fingers. She completed her RYT-200 hour training with Christa Mastrangelo Joyce at Jala Yoga in Shepherdstown, WV in 2015, but she continues to grow and learn as a teacher every day. She has been influenced by and/or taken workshops with such yogis as Christina Sell, Maty Ezraty, Jason Crandell, Annie Carpenter, and Elena Brower. She has a passion for reading from the ancient and modern yogic texts.
Travel across the United States and beyond has been a big part of her life. Each time she travels she brings something back that she incorporates into her teachings whether it be Hawaiian “aloha” or the strong sense of community from Tanzania. However, her favorite place to practice is right at home with her cats.
As an avid outdoor adventurer she hopes to bring a sense of exploration to her classes that can help each student realize their personal power, both physically and spiritually.
